VPN Provider Program Beta Shutdown Notice

The free beta version of the VPN Provider Program will be shutting down on the 13th of June, 2022. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped test this version of the program. We received lots of valuable feedback that will help to shape the product in the future.

Based on the feedback we have decided to shut down the beta offering while we re-work the VPN Provider Program. macOS and Windows security requirements have changed significantly since the program first made available publicly, which greatly affects the ability to offer branded clients using current techniques. The mobile space has also significantly grown and we know it’s something providers would like to see the program address. Rather than continuing to shoulder a significant support burden of older legacy clients, we'll be shutting down the beta and pushing ahead with developing a more modern offering.

We encourage users of the beta to transition to using the standard version of Viscosity for their customers. While the standard version of Viscosity cannot be branded, it offers significant bundling options to ease deployment and setup. Information for those wishing to resell Viscosity alongside a service can be found here.

Existing deployed copies of VPN clients will continue to operate after the shutdown date and they will not be disabled. However, as these clients are not receiving security updates, we strongly recommend transitioning end users to the standard version of Viscosity or another VPN client.

For news of a future product offering to replace the VPN Provider Program please keep an eye on our blog, where news and availability information will be posted.

Thank you again to everyone for your interest and feedback.
