Editing A Connection Manually
If necessary, a VPN connection's configuration file can be edited manually. In some instances you may also be asked to provide a copy of your config file to support staff to help identify a problem. You can access and edit Viscosity's configuration files for your connection/s like so:
- Open the following location in the Finder on Mac:
Your Home Folder/Library/Application Support/Viscosity/OpenVPN/
or in Explorer on Windows:%appdata%\Viscosity\OpenVPN\
- You should notice a folder for each of your connections. Open a folder to find the configuration file, named "config.conf"
- The configuration file can be opened with any text editor, such as the TextEdit or Notepad application. You can copy-paste your configuration to support staff if requested, or edit the configuration file.
- If you have made changes, save the file and then restart Viscosity (quit and reopen) to see the changes.
