Hello!

1. I have a few volume license keys, but i dont know if they are per user or per device. How can i find this out?

2. Is it possible to see in Viscosity which license key it is activated with?

Hi Pirx,

Details on what type of license a serial is are included in your license email. If you do not have a copy of your original license email, you can resend them here - https://sparklabs.com/support/kb/articl ... e-details/

It is not possible to see in Viscosity what license is currently in use, however if you have lost track of what license is in use where, license details can be cleared so you can reorganise your licenses. To do so:
Exit Viscosity

On Windows, type the following command into a command line:
"C:\Program Files\Viscosity\Viscosity.exe" SetPref License deletepref

On Mac, type the following into Terminal:
defaults delete com.viscosityvpn.Viscosity License

Restart Viscosity and you will be able to enter the new license.

If you are looking for any more information about your licenses please send us an email as this is a public forum.

Eric

Hi Eric!

Thanks for the answers! And nope i wont post license keys on this public forum:)

In fact i did re-request my keys yesterday, to see what it said there.
All older (platform specific) keys are per user, right?

But newer multi-platform keys can be per device also. And the mail only says
Type: Volume License (X seats)

I think that they are per user, but no sure.

About keeping track of the keys:) Yeah, well, i know who has gotten which key(s), but not exactly on which of their computers they have installed it (at times people have 2 computers "active", when they have gotten a new computer. and some people have more than one computer in any case. we are an IT company).

So it would be nice to be able to see in the program which key it has been activated with. I dont have to see the whole key, a third will do fine:)

Thanks for the help!

Oh, one last thing. I cant clearly see in the knowledge base if keys are transferable between users?
Here i specifically mean the older platform specific keys.

This is up to you. You can use your volume licenses per user or per machine, but you cannot mix these licensing options, more information here - https://sparklabs.com/support/kb/articl ... r-machines

Single user licenses are licensed per user.

Yes, licenses can be transferred between users as long as the previous installation licensed with that serial is uninstalled.
