Any plans to support Wireguard VPN?

any plans to support Wireguard VPN as an alternative to OpenVPN?

Wireguard support would be awesome, OpenVPN connection times are extremely long.

Hi,

That would be awesome indeed !

I get that since WireGuard is still a pretty new protocol, it is complicated to officially add support for it as of now. However as an alternative, may I suggest implementing a way to add support for external commandlines ? That way, we'd be able to connect / disconnect the wg commandline tool via Viscosity, but it wouldn't require any official implementation, no ?

Hi James,

We badly need WireGuard support, and you’re in a unique position to deliver it. You recently released Viscosity 1.8.2, which adds ARM64 support. As far as I’m aware, that makes Viscosity the only option for OpenVPN on the Surface Pro X.

Unfortunately, we Surface Pro X users have no way of running WireGuard. The official WireGuard app dies when it tries to load the x86 network (wintun) driver, since Windows 10 on ARM apparently doesn’t support x86 drivers.

WireGuard is comprised of only 4,000 lines of code, and OpenVPN’s days look numbered. Can you please give us WireGuard support—preferably this year? :D

I came here to ask exactly for this. From what I can tell the macOS and Windows WireGuard clients use the Go user space implementation, so it would be extremely simple to do the same in Viscosity.

WireGuard is so much better than OpenVPN that I (and many) have just given up on OpenVPN at this point and strictly use WireGuard.

Just created a forum account to ask for a WireGuard solution as well.
We got rid of old and heavy OpenVPN servers company wide and I would love to be able to use Galaxy Book 2's and Surface X's with WireGuard.

Yes, I agree. OpenVPN days are numbered. Everyone is super excited about Wireguard. Linus has announced Wireguard code to be included in the 5.6 Linux Kernel, so I think its pretty clear, Wireguard is the future.

Sparklabs, you guys have done an amazing job with Viscosity. I've been using it for years personally and at work. It's the best OpenVPN client out there.

It would be a shame if you missed this opportunity.

Please add Wireguard support soon.
