Hi all,

I have set up the viscosity to connect my iMac at home to my company server. When the VPN is running and connecting to my company server (the icon turns green, I assumed is successfully connected), I lost my internet connection.

The internet connection didn't returned after I close viscosity, I have to restart the iMac.

I tried to connect the iMac to my iphone as an internet connection (not the wireless router at home), it works just fine. I can connect and access to my company server. Is it something doing with the wireless router?

Can someone advice me what might go wrong?

Thanks.

Tony

Hi Tony,

It sounds likely that you have a routing conflict on your hands - you may like to check the OpenVPN log to see if there are any warnings. You can view the OpenVPN log by opening Viscosity's Details window, and clicking on the 3rd button from the left.

In most cases this is caused by the IP range of the local network clashing with a route set by the remote VPN. Try changing the IP range of your home network (e.g. if it is 192.168.0.x, try 192.168.1.x, or 10.0.1.x, etc.) and see if you still run into the same problem.

Cheers,
James
