Hi hkpatv, What does your routing table look like while you're connected to both VPNs? You can view the routing table by opening the Network Utility application (/Applications/Utilities/Network Utility.app), clicking on the Netstat tab, select "Display routing table information", and click...

Hi Tim, There haven't been any changes between version 1.0.6 and 1.0.9 that should cause this. You're probably better off comparing the raw OpenVPN configuration files (between your machine and your Dad's) to see if there are any differences. You can find the raw OpenVPN config file at: Your Home Fo...

Hi Danny,
If you don't require DNS support, then turning it off (under the General tab when editing your connection) should fix the problem for you.
Otherwise it sounds like you may have a permissions issue. Try removing and reinstalling the Viscosity application and see how it goes.
Cheers,
James

what precisely that function does? It allows Mac OS X to pull an IP address from a DHCP server (just like when you plug in a network cable or connect to a wireless network). Obviously you have the OpenVPN server pushing out an IP address AND a DHCP server on the remote network (or possibly it is as...

Is this by any chance a TAP based connection? If so a remote DHCP server could be overriding your IP address/routing. Try editing your connection in Viscosity and un-tick the "Enable DHCP" option.

Hi André, Well that's certainly a strange one - I'm afraid it's not anything I've seen before. However here are a few generic things you can try: 1. Delete and reinstall Viscosity (i.e. trash the Viscosity application and reinstall it). 2. Make sure you are using the latest version of Viscosity (1.0...

Hi vektor, If you're unable to access your other computer at all (not just with rsync), you'll probably want to check your firewall and NAT settings (for a tun connection) on your OpenVPN server. You may also want to look into using the "client-to-client" option if both computers are conne...

Well routing is all handled by OpenVPN itself - Viscosity doesn't step in and change the routing table. If it is indeed a routing issue, you'd experience the same problem when kicking off your connection from the Terminal, for example with the following command: /Applications/Viscosity.app/Contents/...
