Hi longhorn625,
It's probable that you'll also need to change the port number as well. You're best sending the error message to your VPN provider (along with some screenshots of your connection setup) and asking them if any settings need to be changed.
Cheers,
James

Hi Ollie, We're looking at including advanced DNS support like this in version 1.1 of Viscosity (or possibly 1.2), however in the meantime the only way to be able to do it would be to write your own custom up/down scripts to use Mac OS X's resolver system (which is capable of this). You can find som...

Hi bigma, You can find a Quick Start guide contained inside the Viscosity download that gives you a run through of setting up a new connection with Viscosity. However Viscosity is only part of the solution for setting up your own VPN connection. You'll still need to either setup your own VPN server ...

Hi Adam, It sounds like you want Viscosity to connect through your school's proxy to your pfSense box? If so, it should be easy enough to accomplish. Firstly, on your pfSense box you'll need to tell OpenVPN to use port 443 (instead of the default which is 1194), as otherwise the proxy will probably ...

Hi Col,
You'll need to have a play with the "Ping" and "Ping-restart" fields, which are under the Options tab when editing your connection in Viscosity. For example, try setting a Ping value of 10, and a Ping-restart value of 3600.
Cheers,
James

Hi Fsare, Is this a TAP based or a TUN based connection? If the IP address is being pushed out via OpenVPN make sure you have the "Pull Options" checkbox is ticked (under the Options tab when editing your connection). If it is TAP based, try toggling the "Enable DHCP" option unde...

Hi suzerain, It sounds like a DNS issue to me. Make sure you are using the latest version of Viscosity (1.0.7) as it automatically flushes the DNS cache upon connecting/disconnecting. You should also make sure you have DNS support enabled for your connection (under the General tab when editing your ...

Have there been any progress on the server version of Viscosity? Or will I have to learn how to configure OpenVPN the "hard" way? A lot of progress has been made and we're pretty excited about how it is looking. However we're still not comfortable at releasing a public beta version at thi...

Hi Slawek, Do you know if you are using a bridged TAP connection the IP needs to be assigned by an actual DHCP server, or whether OpenVPN is taking care of IP assignment by emulating DHCP? If it is the former, you may need to tick the "Enable DHCP" checkbox under the General tab when editi...
