Hi tgarons,

It sounds like the setup you're connecting to is likely using SAML for authentication, which Viscosity doesn't currently support. However, we plan on adding SSO/SAML support alongside OpenVPN 2.5 support in a future update, which shouldn't be far off.

Cheers,
James

Hi matchsp9, It sounds like the DNS mode you're after is "Full DNS", rather than "Automatic". Automatic mode will automatically choose between Full and Split DNS modes depending on the routing setup on your VPN connection. If it is a split-traffic setup, then Split DNS will be us...

Hi Matt, If you want the DNS server to be the primary DNS server you'll need to change the DNS mode to Full. For more information please see: https://www.sparklabs.com/support/kb/article/configuring-dns-and-wins-settings/#dns-modes Although if all traffic isn't being routed over the VPN connection, ...

Hi dsdobbins, I recommend making use of the AppleScript "display dialog" command to display exactly what is being sent to Viscosity at the end of your script so you can make sure it's correct. As scripts running from Viscosity are being run from a different context to just running them und...

"scutil --dns" will give an accurate picture of what DNS servers will be used and when. There typically isn't any reason to go beyond this. If for some reason you want to check that the output is accurate, I recommend using Wireshark with a "dns" filter. It'll let you see what re...

The admin told me there is a dhcp reservation for my mac address on my WiFi adapter. But the tap device generated by Viscosity surely uses a different MAC address? Yes, by default your VPN adapter will be assigned a random MAC address. You can manually specify one using the "lladdr" OpenV...

Hi vanesp, An IP in the 169.254.x.x range is called a self-assigned IP address. macOS will automatically assign a self-assigned IP address to the interface if it doesn't receive one from a DHCP server. Typically this means that the DHCP server on the remote network isn't responding, or there is a pr...
