Torrenting Disconnections
Got a problem with Viscosity or need help? Ask here!
For whatever reason it seems that viscosity kills my AirVPN connection when I torrent sometimes; my data transfers torrent or otherwise slow to under 1bs and then cease. A lot of people that have this issue say that it is because of the TAP adapter, and that I should downgrade (see here) Is that what could be going on with me. I'm not sure. I have the most recent version of Viscosity with the recommended Windows 10 tap. It's not a server issue because I can re-connect right away every time. Perhaps it's UDP flooding?
Any thoughts on what I could do to resolve this?

Hi n8chavez,
If you are on Windows 10, downgrading the TAP driver will not help, this is something that only helps on Windows 7 or below.
Does your connection actually drop? Have you had a look a the log to see if anything appears there? We also recommend contacting your VPN Providers support as your client configuration may not match with the server you are connecting too.
Regards,
Eric

It doesn't actually disconnect; it just slows way down gradually to 1b/s. But the connection remains active. Also, I just regenerated my ovpn files today to be sure they are the latest. But this happens from time to time regardless of server. I don't have a log, yet. I'll create one when this happens again.
Hi n8chavez,
What is your CPU usage like when the slow down occurs? Are you using a different cipher to default?

Hi n8chavez,
1.6.5b1 only contains a minor bug fix and will make no difference to this situation.
Have you contacted your VPN Provider about this? They may have a session limit on their connections or some form of flood control on the server.

Eric
