This is a question you should really direct to your VPN Provider - it depends on their OpenVPN server setup. If you are unsure of who your VPN Provider is please see:

That said, BitTorrent is a two-way protocol. Your computer will connect outwards to other peers (not just them connecting inwards) to seed data.
