Hi everyone,
I m trying to setup my PureVPN account through Viscosity and hitting a weird issue.

I downloaded the viscosity app and installed on my mac just fine
Then I grabbed the zip file that contains all of the OpenVPN files
I launched the client and successfully imported a London based OpenVPN server
The instructions tell me to enter my PureVPN username and password but I cannot find any place to do that. That window never opens for me so I cannot enter the required username/password. I can see the imported server in my connections list but every time I try to connect I see this in the log:

2017-06-09 16:38:11: Viscosity Mac 1.7.2b3 (1405)
2017-06-09 16:38:11: Viscosity OpenVPN Engine Started
2017-06-09 16:38:11: Running on macOS 10.12.5
2017-06-09 16:38:11: ---------
2017-06-09 16:38:11: State changed to Connecting
2017-06-09 16:38:11: Checking reachability status of connection...
2017-06-09 16:38:11: DNS resolution failed for vlbr-ukl1-ovpn-tcp.purevpn.net
2017-06-09 16:38:11: Connection is not reachable. Disconnecting.
2017-06-09 16:38:11: State changed to Disconnected
2017-06-09 16:38:11: Connection will be reconnected when it becomes reachable

My internet connection is fine and I can hit websites as I would normally.

Hopefully someone can help me.

Best regards
Jonny

Hi jonnynoh,

It would appear either the server address in the configuration file you have downloaded in invalid, or your VPN Provider's DNS records for the server are invalid/missing. "vlbr-ukl1-ovpn-tcp.purevpn.net" is not a resolvable address, you can test this by simply attempting to ping it from the Terminal:
Code: Select all
ping vlbr-ukl1-ovpn-tcp.purevpn.net
ping: cannot resolve vlbr-ukl1-ovpn-tcp.purevpn.net: Unknown host
You'll need to get in touch with your VPN Provider for updated configuration file/s or to alert them of the problem. For more information please see:
