Hello,

I am thinking about purchasing Viscosity to use with a VPN provider- specifically AirVPN.

The only traffic I would like to route through the VPN is from the application Transmission. I planned on using this interface binder to achieve this
https://github.com/joshbernfeld/Transmi ... ace-Binder

My question is can Viscosity be configured in such a way that by default all traffic does not use the VPN? I know AirVPN allows for split tunneling.

Basically I want viscosity to simply add a VPN interface to the ifconfig table (tun0 or equivalent) that I can use with the interface binder I linked above.

Hoping that Viscosity can fulfill my needs, it looks like a really polished tool.
Thanks.

Hi unixmac,

I'm afraid I have no experience with Transmission's interface binding option, so I can't comment in regards to that. However to prevent all network traffic going through the VPN connection by default you should make sure the "Send all traffic over VPN connection" option is un-ticked for your connection:

If all traffic is still going through the VPN connection then it means the VPN server you are connecting to is overriding the option. You can prevent this by using the "route-nopull" command:

You can then set up selective routes to direct what traffic you want through the VPN connection, or attempt to give Transmission's setting a shot.
