Server and client IP are swapped
Got a problem with Viscosity or need help? Ask here!
Hi,
The values in the Details window are correct. The VPN server you are connecting to is assigning your computer an IP address of 10.26.10.6. And the server's IP address is 46.166.188.217.
A common point of confusion when connecting to a VPN Service Provider is that often they are using NAT to share the server's Internet connection among all connected clients. This means to external websites are servers it looks like your IP address is the VPN server's external IP address, however the actual client-side IP address assigned to your computer is something else.
You should contact your VPN Service Provider if you are concerned about IP address sharing or require more information. Further information about NAT can be found at:

Thank you, James.
Is it possible to make Viscosity show the IPs the other way around by changing the configuration files without messing up the connectivity, or have an option to show these the other way around (and show that external IP in the menu bar instead)?
