Hey everyone, I just downloaded and setup Viscosity with the files provided by my Netgear Nighthawk router. I can connect to the router with Windows machines perfectly using the OpenVPN client that's provided, but on Mac I'm using Viscosity and while it connects perfectly, I don't see a single thing on the network and all internet traffic seems to be routed through my local connection (external IP doesn't change when connected) as opposed to through the remote network. I've got the setting checked to route everything through the VPN as well. I've attached my logs to see if anyone can see anything. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi NeuralChris,

It appears the router isn't pushing out the gateway to use:
Sep 21 12:28:34: NOTE: unable to redirect default gateway -- VPN gateway parameter (--route-gateway or --ifconfig) is missing
This is typically the internal IP address of the router. There may be a setting you need change on the server to ensure this setting is being pushed out by the VPN server. Alternatively you can manually set it in Viscosity (the "Default Gateway" option under the Networking tab when editing your connection in Viscosity).

As you appear to be using DHCP to set the IP address I also recommend adding a route delay to ensure that the route/s are not added before your computer has a VPN IP address assigned. You can do this like so:

1. Open the Preferences window and Edit your connection
2. Click on the Advanced tab
3. On a new line in the commands box enter "route-delay 20" (without the quotes)
4. Click Save and try reconnecting

Cheers,
James
