Viscosity won't open after installation
Got a problem with Viscosity or need help? Ask here!
I am trying to open up and use Viscosity for the first time. When I launch the application, nothing happens and the following error message is posted in the console:
"Launch Services: Could not store lsd-identifiers file at /private/var/db/lsd/com.apple.lsdchemes.plist"
Once I try opening the application once, it is then "running" and I have to restart the computer to kill it. It doesn't show up in Finder, however.
Can you help?

Hi sleonard,
A common mistake we see is people expecting that Viscosity will display an icon in the dock. Viscosity will not display an icon in the dock, however it should display a small icon in your menu bar (top right near the clock). Clicking on this should bring up the Viscosity menu.
However if this icon is not appearing, try checking the Console to see if there are any errors or warning. If the icon doesn't appear it most likely means Viscosity experienced a serious error when trying to start.

I would also recommend checking the following article:

Viscosity will normally display a "Welcome window" when you first launch it indicating where you can find the Viscosity menu, however we find that often VPN Providers may distribute bundled versions where the welcome window has been disabled.
Cheers,
James
